Club Energy Retford

Due to the success of Club Energy Otley in Yorkshire, owners Gary, Pat & Joe have taken on their second site, Club Energy Retford in Nottinghamshire and they have given it a new lease of life. Re-opening the doors in December 2018, the overhaul of the club has already welcomed many happy members both old and new into the gym.

Objective

As Retford is a small market town we wanted to give local people access to equipment to cater for their individual needs, this meant catering to all ages, levels of fitness and training styles. To achieve this goal the gym is split into a performance, cardio, strength and ladies only areas. The equipment and flooring are branded with club colours and logos, to give a club feel throughout.

Gym Design & Planning

The building used to be part of the old rail network so needed careful consideration in terms of flooring and kit placement to work around the older features of the building to create a safe place to exercise. Key features of the strength area are Gym Gear dual series pin-loaded machines, providing two exercises per machine they are a perfect way for Club Energy to save space within the gym. Gym Gear Sterling series plate loaded machines with branded seat covers and a bespoke colour scheme finish off the strength areas club colour scheme and look superb. The performance area features a stand out bespoke coloured rig and half racks, each oak lifting insert features the Club Energy logo. The rig also provides a great storage solution for all key functional accessories. The Gym Gear Tornado Airbike and Concept 2 Ski-ergs provide a great HIIT Cardio solution and provide a tough but fun workout when combined with the rig. In the ladies only area, we have utilised the smaller space to cater for all levels of women’s fitness again with Gym Gear dual series equipment, Gym Gear wall mounted matt holders and Gym Gear upright free-weight racks.

Outcome

The Club Energy family feel is apparent from the moment a member steps through the door with the branded wall art and on brand colour schemes throughout. This fantastic facility will be keeping the people of Retford fit for years to come.
