FX Fitness Experience

Gym Gear are pleased to have been chosen as the gym design and equipment provider for FX Fitness Experience in Burnley. FX Fitness Experience owners Jamie & Josh Kennedy have seen the business grow dramatically over the last few years and needed to increase the scale to accommodate the huge demand for their services.

Objective

The move to a new larger premises was to support a larger number of clients and improve the facilities on offer with a much larger strength and conditioning area, and a greater variety of functional training equipment and HIIT equipment.

Design and Planning

Jamie & Josh Kennedy had some great ideas for the gym and how they wanted it to look and feel. Using our 3D design software we were able to bring their vision to life and ensure the format flowed well in the space.

Equipment Installed

A big part of this installation was the flooring. A thicker 30mm Rubber gym floor was used in the lifting area with the Sterling Series Half Racks and Full Power Racks and a thinner 15mm rubber floor for the functional areas. For the HIIT equipment we installed the Tornado Air Bikes, Watt bikes, Concept 2’s and Concept 2 Ski Ergs, and our new XPO Trainer Prowler to be used on the sled track and outdoors. A range of Gym Gear Elite series cable machines with multiple functions were fitted alongside a few pieces of Sterling plate loaded equipment and a variety of benches. The number of spin bikes was drastically increased to facilitate larger classes, with the M Sport Indoor Cycle being the bike of choice. With the new larger functional area forming a key part of the gym, a huge range of Gym Gear functional training accessories were fitted including slam balls, battle ropes, plyo boxes, powerbags and kettlebells alongside the associated storage solutions. For the power lifting area Jamie & Josh opted for our top of the range high impact bumper plates, tested to 30,000 drops, over the standard bumper plates.

Outcome

FX Fitness Experience can now cater for a much larger client base and has vastly improved S & C and functional training facilities to further improve the member experience. Since the installation in early 2018, FX Fitness Experience has gone from strength to strength, quickly gaining a reputation as a centre of excellence for results based training.
