Sedbergh Sports Centre

INTRODUCTION

As a new build project that had been 6 years in planning, Sedbergh was always going to be Bradford MDC’s jewel in their fitness provision.

OBJECTIVE

The 100+ station facility needed to offer all the current fitness trends (Wearable tech, Bodyweight Training, HIIT Training, Small Group Training, Strength Training, Fitness Programmes for Older Adults, Exercise is Medicine, Personal Training) so as to be as accessible and appealing to as many of the local demographics as possible.

GYM DESIGN & PLANNING

Gym Design was always going to play a key part in the project. Working alongside the main contractor, ISG, Gym Gear was able to create a variety of different spaces that flowed seamlessly in to each other.  Key attention was paid to the exerciser’s journey through aspects such as variety of exercise, social integration, exercise progression and the environment of the facility.

EQUIPMENT INSTALLED

A wide range of equipment was installed at Sedbergh including: Gym Gear T98e Treadmills, X98e Cross Trainers, C98e Upright Bikes, R98e Recumbent Bikes, Tornado Airbikes, Blade 2.0 rowing Machines, M Sport Pro Indoor Cycle, Stairmaster Gauntlets, Stairmaster UBE, Stairmaster HIIT Mill X, Jacobs Ladders, Fortitude Resistance Equipment, Sterling Series Strength Equipment, Elite Series Cable Equipment, Spartan Studio Rig, Bespoke Flooring and Gym Gear Rubber Flooring.

OUTCOME

The outcome is a stunning, modern-day facility that welcomes exercisers from all local demographics. Clean lines, dedicated spaces and thoughtful equipment planning promote engagement, participation and progression for exercisers.
